The Honeymoon Period

During this time period we do not allow outside contact. No phone calls or visits during this time. We can neither confirm nor deny a student is even a part of our program.

Protection

We are committed to our students. We want to provide adequate protection for everyone who is involved: both for the students and for our staff. This includes protection from others who may seek to harm our students and even protection from the students themselves. Many times, during the detox process, it is hard to think clearly or logically and people often make regretful decisions they wouldn't make otherwise. Our new students need time.

A Clean Break

A clean break from certain people and situations is often CRUCIAL to the process in order to leave what is destructive behind and move forward toward health. This period allows our students to break free and start fresh.

Bonding Time

Our new students enter a new place with new people who will be like their family for the next year of their lives. This 30 day period is also a time to shift their focus on acclimating themselves to the house and beginning to form relationships with the other students and staff. 

The Student Period

Our students spend 12 months living, eating, sleeping, and working on campus. They attend classes and chapels, work on assigned daily tasks, volunteer with local ministries and churches, take part in recreational activities, receive group counseling, and receive individual counseling (if requested).

What is Discipleship?

Discipleship is teaching others Biblical truths and principals. It is teaching them HOW to live in relationship with God and actively guiding them, step by step in their process with the Lord. This is the way Jesus taught His disciples for 3 years. They did LIFE together. 

*Classes and Chapel

During your stay here at Renovation House, you will receive classes and Bible studies from local pastors and ministers geared to help equip you on your journey. (Monday-Friday)

*Work Practicum

This doubles as the "Work Therapy" aspect of the program and also as a way to keep tuition costs down. (We only ask students to pay 23% of tuition costs). It is healthy and therapeutic for us to work and then see the fruit of our labor - to be productive and useful. We have roughly 160 acres of land - there is always plenty to do!

*Counseling

During classes and chapels, there is a lot of organic group counseling through the teaching and discussions that follow. This happens naturally. For those students who want individual counseling, however, we make this available to them. 

*Work Hard, Play Hard

We work hard, but we also play hard. We make sure to schedule time for recreational activities - bowling, days at the lake (boating, swimming, tubing), extreme sledding, fishing, hiking, ball games...

NOTE: students are not permitted a personal vehicle, cell phone or laptop. Each student is assigned 2 call nights per week and may request in-house visits from "director-approved" family or friends every other weekend. At 3 months, students may request off-campus visits. Letters may be sent and received at any time. Students also may not seek off-campus employment or schooling during this time.

After our students complete the 12-month discipleship program, then they may choose to go to school, seek employment, and transition back into society

Others may choose to stay with us and rebuild their lives from here while serving the ministry.
